17th c Sansovino Frame with 18th c Oil Portrait of a Man

This centuries-old hanger is a simple treat. A metal “staple” driven through the frame had its ends bent outward to hold a hanging hook in place. It’s a beautiful original part of the ingenious craft of this frame (and it’s not going anywhere).
