 This is a bold, masculine frame with such a creative and unusual sight edge that I couldn't resist pairing it with this 19th c. sketch of an eye.  Heavy and solid, this frame is tightly pegged at the face corners.    Measures 13"
Classical ear
 There is roughness all around in this pairing, but it's altogether richer as a result.  The frame is European,and probably from the early 20th c., but its losses offer the sense that it was with this 19th c. European study all along.    Me
