Similar styles a century apart combine to make a handsome couple indeed. This gorgeous lithograph (indistinctly signed lower right) was recently conserved to replaces losses, foxing, and staining. The grain storage building was commissioned in 1619 by Grand Duke Cosimo de Medici and stands today near the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. On our recent visit, it housed open-air shops. Walfred Thulin was a famous early twentieth century American frame maker who carved his name, cipher, and the frame’s creation date into the back of each of his frames. Overall dim: 31.5” h x 39.5” w. Museum glass.
