A flowery Florentine is not my go-to style, but I remember purchasing this 19th century frame because it was small and muscular. I could make it work somewhere, I thought. For years it hung empty and then I found the gloriously weird acanthus dog. I’d never seen anything like this 19th century ink drawing, and it probably would have been dynamite in any frame. But it fit perfectly inside this one as though they had been waiting to be reunited. On a scale of 1 to 10, this is an 11.
